Announcements ~ November 2018

Confirmation students, high school and college aged youth…I am helping to organize a new version of the live nativity. I need your help to plan, organize and fill the roles. We will be creating a Walk through Bethlehem where people will be able to hear the Bible reading leading up to Jesus’ birth, be counted in the census, walk through the market, see some animals, and lastly rejoice at the birth of Jesus.

We will discuss some ideas on Sunday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 7 after the service. Come to one or both to brainstorm, share ideas and problem solve.

I am hoping this event will be set up on Sunday, December 16 after the Sunday School Christmas program. We will transform the Fellowship Hall into Bethlehem and I will provide pizza and soda for those who stay to help.

The event will be on Wednesday, December 19 from 6:30-8:00pm.

Join us for our Community Service Awareness Presentation on Human Trafficking Sunday, November 4 at 10:30am in the church sanctuary. All are invited.

All 72 counties in Wisconsin have reported documented Human Trafficking. Wisconsin has one of the highest numbers of cases of human trafficking in the United States. Victims range from infant to elderly and they come from all backgrounds, races, and cultures. Human trafficking is referred to as the crime "in Plain Sight." Manitowoc Police Department Detective Erik Kowalski, will discuss cases, trends, signs to look for and safety tips and prevention to keep our communities safer.

This event is FREE and open to the public as well. Presented by the Board of Youth and Family of Faith Lutheran Church.

Lefse Making

Friday, November 9th

Saturday, November 10th

Do you and your family enjoy making lefse together? Have you never made lefse before but want to try it out?

Join us for our traditional lefse making days and see how it is made. This is a great    activity for all ages and we would love to see you for part or the entire event. We will again be using real potatoes, which add to the work, but improves the taste.

Here’s what we need to make this year’s event a success:

Help on Friday afternoon to peel, boil and rice the potatoes starting at 12:00 pm.

Help with mixing ingredients, balling and cooking lefse on Friday late afternoon and

all day Saturday beginning at 9am.

You can come for as long as you are able, bring your parents, kids, grandparents, friends, neighbors…they will all have a job and fun experience.

New this year, we will be adding in some breaks to work on a cool name project to tell who you are and what makes you special, unique, and amazing!

All money raised will be used for youth and family events, the National Youth Gathering in Minnesota, and opportunities for the youth to attend synod events and camps.
