Announcements ~ April 2017

The 66th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed May 4, 2017. The theme for 2017 is, “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us…Forgive Us…Heal Us!” These words are taken from Daniel 9:19, which reads, “Oh, Lord, listen! Oh, Lord, forgive! Oh Lord, hear and act! For your sake, oh my God….”

The Board of Evangelism will once again host a National Day of Prayer event at Faith Lutheran. An informal prayer service is being planned for 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 4th. Interested participants should meet in the upper level Gathering Space. Weather permitting we will gather outside on the church grounds for a time of prayer for our world, our nation, and each other.

If you are unable to be with us in person on this evening, we are asking families and individuals to be intentional in prayer during a part of this day. Please accept this invitation to emphasize the importance of PRAYER as a testimony to who God is and what we believe.

Faith’s Pantry could use some restocking! We are in need of the following items: Dish soap, shampoo, deodorant for men and women, toothpaste, baby food, diapers size 4 or 5, laundry soap, toilet paper, boxed meals and potatoes, mixed veggies, pizza crust mix or pre-packaged crust, pizza sauce, stuffing, pie crust mix and pie filling (no pumpkin), canned fruit and soup. Please put your items in the bins labeled Faith’s Pantry in the gathering space and thank you for your help!

More and more Faith Lutheran Church members are reaching the Medicare eligibility age, and most Medicare plans provide supplemental exercise benefits.  In 2017 Network Health began offering their health fitness benefit via the “Silver Sneakers” program, resulting in over 600 men and women in zip code 54245 being eligible for free or minimal cost fitness classes.  The Jazzercise 5:00 pm LITE classes offered at Faith Lutheran in fellowship hall on Mondays & Thursdays are “Silver Sneakers” approved.  Come join other FLC members who enjoy the convenience of an exercise class at church and attend on a regular basis for improved health! For more information contact Debbie Klingeisen 920-901-4116.

Looking for something fun to do, or a way to help others this summer? Join us on a Mission Trip to Superior/Duluth, MN on July 20th - 23rd. Anyone is welcome to come, age doesn’t matter! It’s a great experience and you can’t beat the feeling you get by helping others! Cost is $129 per person and we will do some fundraisers to help with the cost. If anyone is interested, but may not quite have the money, please contact the pastors and arrangements can be made. YouthWorks provides service experiences that are an important factor in helping kids’ faith stick. They’ve teamed up with Sticky Faith to create Family Trips that deepen kids’ faith and strengthen family relationships. Please sign-up on my door, or feel free to ask me any questions you may have. I really encourage you to take a chance and try something different!  Thanks, Nicolle

Please tune into WOMT, WGBA, or WBAY for ALL cancelations…Faith Lutheran will follow the Valders Public School District’s policy regarding closings, cancellations, etc. SO...If schools are closed…FAITH LUTHERAN is closed (church & office) no activities, worship, etc. If they dismiss classes early or cancel after school activities, FLC also cancels evening activities. No need to wonder, no need to get all bundled up.  Simply put- stay put!  What about Sundays?  If the worship service needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be announced ASAP.
