Our Mission Faith Lutheran Church is a community of believers in Christ, whose purpose is to share God's love and forgiveness through worship, education, support and service.
Sharing God's Word, Showing God's Love, Serving God's World
What We Believe As Lutherans, we confess our faith in the Triune God. We believe God created and loves all of creation -- the earth and the seas and all of the world’s inhabitants. We believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life. We trust that the Holy Spirit, the present tense of God, is active within us as God's servants in the world. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ. Through worship, service, and education, we practice our faith, grow our relationship with God and experience God's grace in our lives. We are part of God’s unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere. When we study the Bible or hear God’s word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God’s own saving story. We also work hard to put our faith into action. In today’s complex world, we strive to make a difference in practical, realistic ways. As a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) we connect with the story of God's people that is both ancient and timely. It’s a story of a powerful and patient God who has boundless love for all people of the world. It’s a story that brings deep meaning, comfort and strength to a growing community of people who live in modern, often unsettling times.
The story we live by is found in the Bible, which is a wonderfully diverse collection of writings given us by God. As Lutherans, ELCA members believe that the Bible is the written Word of God. It creates and nurtures faith through the work of the Holy Spirit and points us to Jesus Christ, the living Word and center of our faith. And in reading the Bible, we are invited into a relationship with God that both challenges us and promises us new life.
