Hands on Mission
Throughout the year, this group works with the congregation and the community to maintain the Faith Food Pantry in order to serve families in need. Faith's pantry is open the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:00-10:00 a.m. serving people within a 10 mile radius of Valders. If you are in need, please stop in and we can help you
Fall Harvest Festival is held in October. This event has activities for the entire family and have included things such as horse-drawn wagon rides, tractor rides and judging, pressing apples for fresh apple juice, old-fashioned games and activities for the children, bingo for adults and children, an apple pie judging contest (with free apple pie slices), lots of food and desserts, crafts, a silent auction throughout the day, topped off by a live auction. Monies raised are used for Faith Food Pantry and an Intergenerational Mission Trip.
This group provides support and donations to Crossways Camping Ministry, Global Mission-Barnyard, Malaria Fund and the ELCA Disaster Fund and have provided funds for congregant’s mission trips and local benefits. See the Serving Others tab above for photos from recent mission trips. Currently this group is involved with a local Habitat for Humanity project in our community.
Held in May, Blessing of the Bikes is an opportunity for those people who love to ride motorcycles with the opportunity to come together at the beginning of the riding season for fellowship and prayer. Riders and their bikes are blessed and then head out together for a ride.
The Hands on Mission Committee organizes and sponsors a pancake and sausage breakfast before their ride.Click here to see photos.
Hands on Mission also hosts a brat fry in conjunction with the Valders Garden Club and Luther League .
