Service Groups

If you'd like to be a part of any of these groups, just e-mail, indicating which group you're interested in joining.

Empty Nesters

Connect with other empty nesters and make care packages of goodies for sons and daughters who are in college or embarking on new careers far from home. Enjoy an opportunity to share your faith, pray for our children and remind them of God’s love for them.  It will meet several times a year. Coordinator:

Habitat for Humanity

Lay the foundation with like-minded builders and volunteers for the upcoming Habitat House in Valders, slated to begin in August of 2012. Activities are up to the group: may hold workshop on building skills; help with fundraising; read and discuss Theology of the Hammer or other activities. Coordinator:

Soup for the Soul

Prepare freezer meals and make fun crafts, small gifts or cards for those who are home bound, grieving, recovering from surgery, child birth or illness, or are in need of a warm meal and wishes. Members cook and craft, while offering prayers for those who will be fed. Many hands make light work, while enjoying friendship and fellowship. Once you try it, you’ll be back. NOTE:  SOUP FOR THE SOULS will not meet during June, July and August, but will start up again on September 18, 2013.  We have stockpiled enough soup for the summer months, so the Lay Sacramentarians can still supply soup to the shut-ins.

Community Garden (Spring 2012)

20ll was the inaugural year for the Faith Lutheran, Saint Nazianz Christian Center community garden ministry. We raised several tons of vegetables from our half acre garden. We will be restructuring our garden for 2012 to include more minds, bodies and hands in our ministry. We are looking at establishing small plots for individuals to care for and distribute and utilize as they are called to do. Contact Bryce Larson Faith Lutheran Church or Linda Frasch at the Saint Nazianz Christian Center for more information.
