Come share the JOY of the SEASON at Faith’s Christmas Caroling Get Together

All generations are invited to meet at Faith Lutheran’s parking lot at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 12. We will visit several area nursing homes to sing some traditional Christmas carols – songbooks will be provided. After we are done spreading some holiday cheer we will visit Jenn’s Java for hot chocolate and/or dessert. Invite your friends, neighbors and family. The more the merrier! Sign up in the Gathering Space at church if you can attend. Please contact Chloe Cigler at 775-4417 if you have questions!

Faith Lutheran Church is again sponsoring the “Sharing Tree.”  The tree is located on the Welcome Center in the Gathering Space.  On this tree are tags that represent gift items for 2 families.  A spending suggestion for each tag is $20.00.  Information sheets highlighting the families are available near the tree.  All gifts need to be returned to church unwrapped no later than December 1st, as they will be delivered the following day.  Support in the past years has been tremendous, so I am confident these families will see God’s love made real through your love and generosity.  Any questions can be directed to Julie Endries at 920-973-9881.

In As Much Sunday

In As Much Sunday will be December 8. On this day, we are asking Sunday School students to bring an unwrapped present (toy, craft, book, gift card for a movie, gas station, restaurant, grocery store, etc.) to donate to a child/family in need. Specific needs include: makeup sets, lotion/body wash, ear buds, craft kits, men’s body wash sets, toys for children (no violent toys), toddler toy and toy sets, Legos, fun costumes for kids, new coats for kids and adults, snow boots, sport balls, perfume/cologne, duffle bags, board games, teen activity kits, diapers in all sizes, blankets, bottles and nipples, baby monitors, burp cloths, new car seats, baby carriers, play mats. The gifts collected will be given to InCourage (formerly the Domestic Violence Center) in time for the holidays. Children will be asked to bring up their gift during the 9:00 a.m. service on this day. Please help your child celebrate the Christmas season by reaching out to others.

A Walk through Bethlehem

We have been working hard to create an amazing interactive, walk through event that culminates with the Nativity scene. Please check the banner on the church doors to see if you have items that might help us.   Items can be donated and used for future years or lent. All lent items can be picked up in the upstairs classroom after December 16th. We are also looking for donations of baked goods to create a reception area for visitors to enjoy after they walk through.

Families of youth in grades 6 and above (or others who are able), we need your help! Plan on being at church on Saturday, December 14th by 11:00 am to help with set up, decoration, costuming and a meal. If you are unable to join us right away, come when you can. We need as many youth as possible to be there, in costume by 4:45pm. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Youth will be done at 8:00 pm on Saturday. We will leave everything set up and the congregation will be encouraged to visit after the 9:00 am service on Sunday (the Sunday School program will happen at that service and there is no Sunday School that day). At noon we will begin to take down the display and we will need many abled bodies to get the job done quickly.

Youth are invited to stay this Sunday and December 1 to work on crafting projects. Adults who want to help set up mock displays, work on projects, etc. are welcomed to stay. Bring along money and we will head to Subway for a quick lunch during our work time.

The Board of Youth and Family is bringing back SCRIP, utilizing a program called Shop With Scrip. Shop With Scrip allows families to purchase gift cards online and our church will be credited once per week with rebates from the sales of these gift card purchases. As we trial this program, we will not keep a supply of gift cards at church, as has been done in the past. The program will be completely online at this time.

With the Christmas season fast approaching, this would be a great way to purchase gifts for friends and family, while also helping the church. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Erin Lenzner at 901-7089.
